B.Sc. Nautical Science

This is a 3-year full-time residential program approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping (Government of India). It covers all important topics related to maritime education and Nautical Science. The program focuses on training and preparing eligible students for becoming Deck Officers and imparts learning in Nautical Technology, with more attention to practical skill development.

All candidates applying for B.Sc. Nautical Science program need to appear for a common entrance test (IMU-CET) conducted by the Indian Maritime University (IMU).

    At CMS, a systematic lesson plan for every subject is provided to the students at the beginning of the coaching to establish a goal in the name of marks to achieve. As the competition progresses, each session includes exposure to the competition so that concepts can be applied. Because each student has his or her own manner of grasping and refining information, the hour-based course schedule assists students in strategizing their plan to go over the topics.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To join the BSc nautical science colleges sponsorship course at CMS, the students must be first eligible for the course. The minimum BSc nautical science eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

    • Passed 10+2 with an average Mark of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
    • 50% Marks in English either in 10th or 12th

    Age limit: Below 25 years
    Passport: It is mandatory to have passport at the time of course commencement.

    Medical Standard
    • Candidates should be Physically Fit for Sea Service under DGS norms
    • Eyesight 6/6 without any external aids
    • No Color Blindness

    Eyesight – Candidates have to qualify for a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department before being finally selected for the course. They should have 6/6 in each eye without visual aids and should be free from color blindness.
